SYSTEM OF INSTRUCTION
The University uses the course unit system, which is based on determining the required number of hours of instruction to be successfully completed according to the standards set by the University to obtain the first degree in the relevant area of specialization.
Credit Hour (Cr.h.):
Refers to one lecture hour per week lasting for 15 weeks.

Course:
It is a program of study presented in lectures or other classes with a fixed number of credit hours per week (regularly 3 hrs.) throughout the semester.
Each course is given a title and a number and is related to other courses within an integrated curriculum.

Curriculum:
It is a full description for the program of specialization. It consists of three parts:
1. A syllabus of integrated courses that fulfill the requirements for a specific degree.
2. A practical training period (Internship), which is integrated to the curriculum according to the type of the degree.
3. A Senior Project that allows the student to find, research, design, implement, document and orally present a professional and academic research project.

Study Load:
Refers to the number of credit hours a student is registered for, and has to attend as weekly classes. The maximum load is eighteen credit hours. However, students may increase their study load to reach twenty-one hours in the normal semester in one of the following cases:
1. If the student achieves a 3.5 (GPA) point score or more in the previous semester.
2. To qualify a student for graduation requirements in the same semester, as long as he / she is not warned academically (Faculty council approval is required).

Semester:
It is a period lasting for sixteen weeks including the examination period.

Academic Year:
It is the period devoted to teaching, which is determined according to the calendar. It consists of two normal semesters (Fall & Spring) and a (summer semester). Students are allowed to register for nine credit hours at most during summer. The load may be increased to 12 credit hours if item 1 and 2 above are fulfilled.

Points:
Numerical units are used in universities to register the student’s achievement standards in terms of marks. Therefore, each course result is given in points. The highest point for a course taught at MUBS is 4.0

Pre-Requisite:
Refers to each course, which is found necessary for each student to complete successfully before being allowed to register in a subsequent one. For example, Freshman English I is a pre-requisite for Freshman English II.

Class Standing:
Students are classified according to the number of credits they have earned
SOPHOMORE : 0 – 30 credits
JUNIOR : 31 – 60 credits
SENIOR : 61 credits or more

Dropping and Adding Stage:
* The end of the first week is the last date for dropping and adding without losing fees.
* The end of the tenth week is the last date of withdrawal from one course or more:
1. Students wishing to withdraw from a course have to bear in mind that in all cases the minimum number of credit hours they should register in is nine credit hours per semester.
2. Withdrawal shall appear on student's academic record.
3. Withdrawal shall be registered using the symbol "W".
4. No credit hours shall be considered.
5. Course fee is not refundable.
