On the 10th anniversary of the foundation of M.U.B.S., a committee representing the Board of Trustees, recently paid a visit to the the Lebanese President, General Michel Suleiman. The committee included the university president, members of the board of trustees, and different heads of administrative departments at M.U.B.S.

This year's Graduation Ceremony will be held under the Auspices of H.E Minister Ziad Baroud on Saturday September 18th at 7 pm at the Main Campus in Damour. A reception for the graduates & their parents will be held on Thursday September 16th at 7 pm at the Main Campus.

M.U.B.S. is pleased to announce the opening of its new study center in Aley conveniently located for easy access at Arman Street-Ghraizi Building. This new center has all new modern classrooms and is well equipped to serve both students and faculty members. The facility offers full services, including registration, advising, library and internet access, and is completely integrated into the university's computer network.

The selection results of the third Call for Proposals to be funded from Tempus IV have now been finalised. 64 (out of 450) proposals have been recommended for funding from the Tempus grant. These proposals were evaluated by the Selection Committee, using the eligibility criteria, exclusion criteria, selection criteria and award criteria stated in the Call, to insure they were of high quality.

A committee representing the MUBS Board of Trustees, recently paid a visit to the Minister of Education & Higher Education, Dr. Hassan Mneimneh, in the presence of the Director General of Higher Education, Dr. Ahmad Jammal. The committee was headed by the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Hatem Alamy, and included Dr. Ali Cheaib, Dr. Issam Jawhari, Mr. Mounir Hamzeh, and Dr. Nael Alami.

The 1st Union for the Mediterranean Rectors Conference was organized by the EPUF with the collaboration of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, the Fundació Sant Pau, the Institut Europeu de la Mediterrània, the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

The M.U.B.S. Sports Department held a 10 day basket ball and volley ball sports tournament. The event was held under the Auspices of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ali Abdallah, and with the Sponsorship of the Lebanese Canadian Bank.

On July 14h, M.U.B.S. hosted in its main campus in Damour a workshop organized by the Association of Industrialists in Al-Chouf. The workshop was held under the Auspices of His Excellency Mr. Walid Jumblatt & with the collaboration of the Ministry of Industry & the Ministry of Displaced.

Starting Fall 2010-2011, M.U.B.S will launch new majors in the Faculty of Business Administration: Economics, International Business & Entrepreneurship & in the Faculty of Computer & Applied Sciences: Information Security.

M.U.B.S. in collaboration with the Universite de Picardie Jules Verne in France offers a double BS degree in Business Administration with a Banking & Finance concentration. Graduates will also have the opportunity to obtain a double Masters degree from M.U.B.S & from UPJV.

Represented by Dr. Nael Alami, MUBS participated in this year’s Association for Institutional Research’s 50th Annual forum that took place in Chicago, USA between May 29 and June 2, 2010. Incorporated in Michigan in 1966 and doing business in Florida since 1974 as a non-profit organization, the mission of the Association for Institutional Research is to support quality data and decisions for higher education.

The second Higher Education International Conference (HEIC 2010), organized by the M.U.B.S., was held on May 4th and 5th. The sessions concluded on May 5, 2010 in an official ceremony held at Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel

M.U.B.S. organized on April 25th its fourth annual Outdoors in its main campus in Damour. Five hundred students from schools all over Lebanon attended the event and participated in the marathon and in the M.U.B.S. orientation session.

M.U.B.S membership in the International Association of Universities (IAU) was approved in December 2009. M.U.B.S met all the criteria and requirements for admission as set by the IAU Administrative Board and accordingly became an IAU member (www.iau-aiu.net).
