As part of the meetings that MUBS organizes to introduce its plans for the upcoming stage, an MUBS delegation met with Dr. Adnan Al Sayid Houssein, president of the Lebanese University. The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Nada Chbat, responsible of International Relations at the Lebanese University.

On January 19th, 2012, a group of students from The faculty of Education at MUBS (Hamra and Damour), accompanied by the Head of the Department Dr. Josephine Al Khawli, had the opportunity to visit the Office of Pedagogy and Education at UNESCO.

In an attempt to strengthen the relationship between MUBS and the Lebanese Army, a delegation from MUBS visited General Jean Kahwaji in his headquarters. The visit stressed the importance of establishing a mutual collaborative relationship between the Military and Higher Education Institutions.

During the Spring semester 2012, MUBS will offer a "Global understanding" elective course to its students in collaboration with East Carolina University (USA).

The undergraduate "entrepreneurship" students will discuss topics with Professor Mike Clements - Professor of Enterprise Education at Staffordshire University (UK).

The purpose of the visit was to give the students an idea on the internal structure and the working processes and procedures of the VAT Directorate with the main objective of putting theory into practice.

Christmas at M.U.B.S. was a very festive and joyous occasion for all students and faculty members. Christmas decorations and music filled all three MUBS campuses with the spirit of the season.

In partial fulfillment of the Entrepreneurship course , which was tailored at Staffordshire University in UK as part of the ASPIRE Tempus project, Dr. Talal Jaber, Professor & Attorney at Law-, delivered an exhilarating seminar on the legal aspects of SMEs in Lebanon.

The MGT702 Entrepreneurship course, which is a required core course currently taught by Dr. Nizam Najd in our new MBA program concentration in "Marketing and Entrepreneurship" here at MUBS.

In a continuation of the Modern University for Business and Science' anti smoking campaign, a ceremony was held to honor the people and NGOs who pioneered the Lebanese anti-smoking law. The ceremony took place at Unesco Palace on the 18th of Novermber 2011, under the patronage of the Minister of Health Mr. Ali Hassan Khalil.

The HEIC 2011 organized by the MUBS under the high patronage of HE Professor Hassan Diab, Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel between the 31st of October and the 2nd of November 2011 concluded its activities with a tour visit for the participants who had the opportunity to see Jeita, Byblos and Tripoli after 2 days of working sessions and discussions about the main topics on the conference’s agenda amidst a consensus on the importance of the HEIC, the diversity of participation and the in-depth character of discussions.

The Modern University for Business and Science and under the patronage of the Minister of Social Affairs Mr. Wael Abou Faour, represented by Mr. Antoine Zakhia, organized a forum about "Legislating the Profession of Social Workers in Lebanon" in its main campus in Damour.

MUBS held its 7th graduation commencement under the patronage and in the presence of Mr. Riad Salameh, Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon on 6/09/2011 at the university’s main campus in Damour. M.U.B.S. office of International Affairs (OIA) is MUBS’s main point in coordinating international relationships. Its primary functions, in this context, include enhancing student/faculty mobility, advocating curriculum internationalization, improving MUBS international presence and capacity on campus, and promoting international projects and activities.

M.U.B.S., represented by Dr. Bassem Kaissi, participated in the steering committee meeting of the "Leadership in Higher Education Management" tempus project held and organized in Bari by the University of Bari (Italy) on Monday July 18, 2011.

Erasmus Mundus has completed its selection of consortia, partnerships and projects under the three Actions of the Programme within the Call for Proposals EACEA 41/10. The Call was issued on 16 December 2010, with a deadline for proposals of 29 April 2011.

MUBS is a partner in the "ASPIRE" Tempus project funded by the EU. The ASPIRE project has four specific objectives:

1. To develop and implement a 3-module Enterprise Pathway in each partner country university, using VLE delivery.
2. To develop and implement a Masters Programme in Entrepreneurship jointly taught by universities in each partner country.

Starting from the Fall semester 2011-2012, the Faculty of Business Administration will be offering a new concentration in its MBA program in "Marketing and Entrepreurship". The program structure was developed with the assistance of Staffordshire University in the UK within the framework of the Tempus project ASPIRE.

MUBS, represented by Dr. Ali Cheaib, Dr. Bassem Kaissi, & Mr. Kamal Eldik participated in a TIES Project workshop funded by the European Union, held and organized in Tunisia by the Sfax University during the week of May 29th, 2011.

Under the patronage of his Excellency Mr. Walid Joumblat, M.U.B.S. and the Commission of Cooperation among the Economic Sectors in AL Chouf launched a survey project covering all economic sectors in the area aiming to analyze the present situation and suggest ways to trigger further development.

Tempus project ASPIRE requests proposals to supply equipment for the establishment of two entrepreneurship centers in Lebanon one at the Beirut Arab University (BAU) and another one at the Modern University for Business and Science (M.U.B.S).

The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) is a global initiative aimed at addressing areas of human rights, literacy, sustainability and conflict resolution. M.U.B.S. realized the common ground it shares with UNAI and became one of the founding members of this initiative in the year 2000.

Western Michigan University (Kalamazo, Michigan, United States of America)and the Modern University for Buisness & Science (Beirut, Lebanon) have recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement for Academic Cooperation.

M.U.B.S. in collaboration with the Universite de Picardie Jules Verne in France offers a double BS degree in Business Administration with a Banking & Finance concentration. Graduates will also have the opportunity to obtain a double Masters degree from M.U.B.S & from UPJV.
