E-Tools Skills Development


Within the Tempus project “Modernizationof Institutional Management of Internationalization in South Neighboring Countries: towards an Internationalization Management Model (MIMI)”, Dr. Nisreen Alwan,Acting Dean of the School of Health Sciences at MUBS has participated in a training workshop on e-Tools skills development.

 The training took place in Villach, Austria from September 16th till 17th, 2015 for support of execution of online training with self-developed modules.

 The sessionsopened with a demonstration of two show-cases for the use of e-learning for internationalization of Higher Education. Professor Pester has also demonstrated a show case for use in engineering courses experimentation, based on a Tempus project with Maghrebian countries “eSience”.The first part of the training sessionswas closed by a visit to the online laboratories in Carinthia University.

In the second part of the course, Moodle platform was introduced. Professor Hoffland stressed on the importance ofMoodle as an open online course management system helping instructors and trainers create, develop, and deliver online learning environments. It enhances face-to-face instruction with a blended learning environment.

An introduction to the Go-Labproject was presented by Ms. Oros. The Go-lab project opens up online science laboratories (remote and virtual labs) for the large-scale use in school education. The aim of the project is to encourage young students aged from 10 to 18 to be involved in science topics by undertaking active guided experimentation.

The session was concluded by a discussion of the ongoing activities of the project.
