ABOUT QAO

In consistency with a long-standing commitment to quality in all its endeavors, MUBS Quality Assurance Office was established in the year 2007 under the Directorship of Prof. Bassem Kaissi. The establishment of the office was supported and co-funded by the QAHEL (Quality Assurance for Higher Education in Lebanon) European Tempus project coordinated by the University of Sunderland (UK).

In 2009, the Office structure was developed and the know-how and management capacities of its staff were developed within the framework of the ALTAIR (Strengthening the institutional capacity of Arab Universities in support of policy, management and planning at national and regional levels) European Tempus project coordinated by the University of Alicante (Spain).

MUBS grew steadily over the past few years as a result of the strategic programs that have been implemented in line with its mission and objectives. The university continues its drive toward achieving high standards and quality in its academic programs and administration processes. We have implemented several internal measures to ensure meeting key criteria at different levels. In November, 2015 a quality assurance committee representing all MUBS schools and departments was created with the objectives of:

  • Evaluating and assessing the quality office tasks.
  • Setting the rules and mechanisms of the quality office work.
  • Specifying the rules and procedures governing the relationship between the quality office and the university departments and offices.
  • Discussing ideas and recommendations related to the quality system.

In January, 2017, a new set of quality criteria with the aim toward continuous development and improvement of university academic programs was implemented, and translated through a signed External Moderation Agreement between MUBS & Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK). In addition, MUBS through it's QAO is aiming to achieve International Accreditation for the Business Administration Program and the Computer Science Program, by the end of September, 2017, through FIBAA and ASIIN respectively.
